From 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM, drink only water and abstain from all food and other beverages.
This fast is a spiritual discipline intended to draw us closer to God, deepen our prayer life,
and strengthen our faith through intentional time with Him in prayer, Bible reading, and
worship.
Why We Are Fasting
• To seek a deeper connection with God.
• To grow spiritually through prayer, meditation, and worship.
• To humble ourselves and rely on God for strength.
• To focus on spiritual growth rather than physical needs.
What to Do During the Fast
• Stay Hydrated – Drink plenty of water.
• Pray & Read the Bible – Replace meals with time in God’s Word.
• Worship & Meditate – Focus your thoughts and praise on God.
• Seek Strength – When weak or tempted, pray for God’s help.
• Stand Firm – Expect temptation; lean on God’s Word for strength.
How to Break the Fast
• Ease Back In – Don’t go straight to a heavy meal.
• Start with Liquids – Begin with soups or broths.
• Choose Gentle Foods – Go for light, low-carb, easy-to-digest options.
Day 1 – October 1

• Individual: Release past failures and distractions, pressing forward to finish strong.
• Corporate: Pray for the church in D.C. and across the nation to walk in focus, not division, distractions, or stagnation.
• Community: Cover youth and young adults. Pray that they would pursue purpose over peer pressure, and the community would provide mentoring and opportunities.

• Individual: Declare personal victory over depression, fear, and spiritual warfare.
• Corporate: Pray for victory for the Church, unity across denominations, racial divides healed, and bold witness in the public square.
